INFUSE Artist Development Programme returns with award winning choreographer, dancer and musician Akeim Toussaint Buck.
Akeim is a multi-award winning choreographer, dancer and facilitator who combines, dance, beat boxing, live and recorded music, poetry, acting and performance to craft mesmerising, textured performances.

INFUSE your practice, joining Akeim Toussaint Buck in a week long deep dive and creative exploration into making multidisciplinary performance.
Drawing on Akeim’s seminal approach to creating layered performance infusing sound, movement, beatboxing, poetry, dance, acting and play participants will embark on an uplifting and collaborative week of investigating tools for creation, leaving with combining exciting new ideas for developing performance.

INFUSE will add new resources to your toolbox, enhancing your practice and so you will be encouraged to interrogate, share, adapt as well as absorb and transform the work.
Across the residency you can expect to be nurtured, uplifted and challenged in your own making, creative practice and ultimately energised in your artistic decision making.

AKEIM TOUSSAINT BUCK
Akeim Toussaint Buck is a multi-award-winning interdisciplinary artist, choreographer and performer whose bold, poetic work fuses dance, film, poetry, song, and political activism into unforgettable live experiences.
Born in Jamaica and raised in England, Akeim creates work rooted in the Black diasporic experience, driven by a fierce commitment to social justice, storytelling, and transformation. His audiences are immersed, moved and invited into a deeper reckoning with our collective histories and present.
He is the visionary behind critically acclaimed performances such as Windows of Displacement, Sib Y Osis, Souls & Cells, Okan and Negus Genesis. His work has been presented at leading venues and festivals including Sadler’s Wells, The Place, Sheffield Crucible, and internationally at Sharjah Art Foundation Biennial.
Akeim was the recipient of the Arts Foundation Futures Award for Dance Theatre 2023, and has curated major platforms such as Radical Visions (Sadler’s Wells Wild Card) and Snakebox & Friends. His short films Displaced, Reckoning, Galvanise and Negus have reached global audiences, blending cinematic power with live movement. As a movement director, he has worked on shows including Nine Night, Far Gone, and High Rise Estate of Mind.
His work is described as “mesmerising,” “impossible to look away from,” and “a testament to resilience, community, and survival.”

The residency will be a unique opportunity for established and working creatives to receive nurturing and development at an accessible price. Led by Akeim Toussaint Buck the workshop will focus on sharing his energising and powerful multi-layered creation practice combining movement, sound and music to create powerful performance in an uplifting, joyous and exciting week.

INFUSE is specifically targeted at established and working artists who wish to develop their practice and is heavily subsidised to make it an accessible and affordable training opportunity.
Anyone working within the creative industries with a passion for movement and performance practices is welcome to apply, priority will be given to those who demonstrate why this is would be useful for them.

Applications will be offered on a first come first serve basis. We expect to sell out quickly.

INFUSE is heavily subsidised to make it an accessible opportunity to those working in the arts.
Places will fill up very quickly, and we estimate allocating all places by end of Round 1 so... Get your application in now.
Application can be made via a simple form.

Successful applicants will be informed within 14 days of their application and can confirm their place by paying the full amount.
Confirmation of your place will be acknowledged upon receipt of the full amount. You can reserve your place by paying a deposit of £120 and set up a payment plan for the remainder which must be paid 14 days prior to the residency.
