INFUSE your practice, joining Chris Evans in a week long deep dive and creative exploration into methods for developing movement, devising, ​creating character​ and theatrical moments.

Through navigation of different modes of making, participants will embark on​ ​an uplifting and collaborative week of investigating movement language.

INFUSE seeks to add new resources to your toolbox, enhanc​ing ​your practice​ and so ​y​ou will be encouraged to interrogate, share, adapt as well as absorb and transform the work.

Across the residency ​expect to be nurtured, uplifted and challenged in ​​your creative practice and ​ultimately energised in your artistic decision making.

INFUSE FACILITATOR

Chris Evans

Chris is a performer and movement director who for over 15 years has been working with some of the UK's most groundbreaking dance and theatre companies. Graduating in dance, he has since focused his practice on Physical Theatre and story driven work.

His company life has always run alongside delivering workshops and classes, teaching in over 30 countries to a wide range of experience and skill set, both in Dance and Physical Theatre.

Chris was a founding member of the Hofesh Shechter Company and after six years of devising and touring his work globally, became Associate Choreographer on Hofesh’s project based commissions including the New York MET Opera “Two Boys”, and the Toni-nominated musical “Fiddler on the Roof” on Broadway.

He’s a regular collaborator with Ben Duke’s Lost Dog Theatre since performing in the Place Prize winner “It Needs Horses” in 2012. Chris is also a core member of the multi-award winning company Gecko Theatre, a relationship spanning 10 years across 6 major creations.

His role in the company has expanded from performer, to writer and Director of Gecko’s Associate Commissions.

Chris was Movement Director and co-writer of “The Dreamer” (2017) a co-production with Rich Rusk and the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre. More recently Chris took on the role of UK Associate Movement Director for Harry Potter and Cursed Child on the West End, co-wrote and directed the outdoor show ‘CODE’ with Justice in Motion and in November this year Chris has written and directed his first show “The Rescue” for E15’s Contemporary Theatre showcase.

The residency will be a unique opportunity for established and working creatives to receive nurturing and development at an accessible price. Led by Chris Evans the workshop will focus on sharing Chris’ extraordinary experience working at the forefront of contemporary dance and physical theatre for the last 15 years to develop and nurture participants in an uplifting, joyous and exciting week.

  • INFUSE is specifically targeted at established and working artists who wish to develop their practice and is heavily subsidised to make it an accessible and affordable training opportunity.

    Anyone working within the creative industries with a passion for movement and devising practices is welcome to apply, priority will be given to those who demonstrate why this is would be useful for them.

  • Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. All applicants will hear back from us within 2 weeks of submission. Deadline for applications is midday Thursday 15th February and all applicants will be contacted by Friday 16th February at the latest.

    INFUSE is heavily subsidised to make it an accessible opportunity to those working in the arts. Places will fill up quickly, and we estimate allocating all places by end of January so... Get your application in now.

  • Successful applicants will be informed within 14 days of their application and can confirm their place by paying the full amount.

    We acknowledge it is a tricky time of year, we can arrange for your place to be reserved by paying a deposit of £100 and set up a payment plan for the remainder which must be paid 14 days prior to the residency.
