After 4 sold out Residencies in 2024 INFUSE Artist Development Programme returns with award winning physical theatre artists EPHEMERAL ENSEMBLE.

Ephemeral are a dynamic ensemble of international performers who regularly collaborate with the biggest physical theatre companies in the UK and come together to create multi-award winning work that is political, visually striking and highly dynamic combining the high physicality of the performers, original music and playful interaction with the stagecraft to create a narrative.

They won Summerhall's inaugural Rewind Award  2023 (named after their show), Pick of the Fringe at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival

PHYSICAL THEATRE AND ENSEMBLE DEVISING

INFUSE your practice, joining Ephemeral Ensemble in a week long deep dive and creative exploration into interdisciplinary physical theatre techniques and ensemble devising. 

Drawing on Ephemeral’s multidisciplinary approach to creating layered performance infusing sound, movement, puppetry, light, scenography, theatrical Movement and expressive language participants will embark on​ ​an uplifting and collaborative week of investigating physical theatre training and exciting new ideas for developing ensemble performance. 

INFUSE will add new resources to your toolbox, enhancing ​your practice​ and so ​you will be encouraged to interrogate, share, adapt as well as absorb and transform the work.

Across the residency you can ​expect to be nurtured, uplifted and challenged in ​​your own making, creative practice and ​ultimately energised in your artistic decision making.

Ephemeral are a multi-award-winning Global Majority and migrant led international physical theatre ensemble. They make work driven by a theme or a question, which inspires them to find fact-based stories that shine a light on current hidden social issues. Collaboration between the artistic team, community and professionals in other fields is vital to their process.

Their work is political, visually striking, highly dynamic, thought provoking and moving at heart, combining deep physicality with original music and playful stagecraft to create theatrically compelling performance.

The residency will be a unique opportunity for established and working creatives to receive nurturing and development at an accessible price. Led by Ephemeral Ensemble the workshop will focus on sharing their energising and powerful ensemble devising process working on stories that are best told physically in an uplifting, joyous and exciting week.
