Babel Lab - Elements & Atmosphere
A weekend of physical training, creative ignition, and performance-making.
5th & 6th July 2025
Chisenhale Dance Space, London
£120 | Or book all 3 Labs for £300 (instalments available)
Join us this summer for the first in our 2025 Babel Labs series—designed for movement directors, facilitators, and performance makers ready to expand their tools and deepen their practice.
Led by Artistic Director Joseph Lynch, this Lab focuses on Elements & Atmosphere—how we use texture, rhythm, force, and imagery to build rich theatrical worlds and create emotionally resonant work.
Inspired by the elemental techniques of Jacques Lecoq and developed through Babel’s evolving creative methodology, this weekend will help you:
Generate raw material through physical exploration
Develop characters and scenes rooted in texture and tone
Craft bold ensemble imagery with weight, contrast, and clarity
Build atmosphere through embodied movement and spatial awareness
Translate creative instinct into structured, stage-ready material
Whether you’re devising your own work or leading others, this Lab offers practical tools, creative inspiration, and space to take your practice somewhere new—alongside a supportive community of fellow artists.
Who is it for?
This Lab is for theatre-makers, dancers, directors, choreographers, and anyone working with movement in performance.
Whether you’re just starting or refining your existing process, you’ll leave with fresh tools, deeper clarity, and momentum for your next creative project.
