Babel Lab - Co-creative Movement
A weekend of collaborative direction, shared authorship, and embodied leadership.
30th & 31st August 2025
Chisenhale Dance Space, London
£120 | Or book all 3 Labs for £300 (instalments available)
This is the second in our 2025 Babel Labs series—created for facilitators, directors, and performance makers who want to lead powerful creative processes with confidence and care.
Led by Artistic Director Joseph Lynch, this Lab introduces The Co-Creation Method—a five-stage framework for movement direction that balances structure with openness, and clarity with collaboration.
Developed during Joseph’s MA in Movement Directing and Teaching at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (Distinction), this approach has been used across the UK with leading artists in theatre, dance, and devised performance.
Across two days, you’ll learn how to:
Guide creative work from first research to final composition
Build trust and authorship across ensembles and rehearsal rooms
Create structure without control, and direction without dominance
Work responsively with performers while staying connected to your vision
Develop a movement-led methodology you can take into your own practice
Whether you’re facilitating group work, directing devised performance, or making your own projects, this Lab gives you tools to lead with clarity and collaborate without compromise.
Who is it for?
Ideal for directors, movement directors, facilitators, theatre-makers, and choreographers—especially those who work with ensembles, devising processes, or educational settings.
Whether you’re refining an existing approach or stepping into leadership for the first time, this Lab will give you structure, confidence, and community.
